Cactus and Succulent Field Number Finder

This form will take a cactus or succulent species (e.g. Rebutia heliosa), and return field numbers corresponding to that species if available.

Note that the same species may be listed under various different names (e.g. Rebutia heliosa may also be listed as Aylostera heliosa). This service does not automatically cross-reference alternative names, so it is up to you to search manually for all appropriate alternatives.

Enter plant name (genus and species only) e.g. Rebutia heliosa, and press return

If you get errors, please report them to me.

Other Queries

If you want to identify the species corresponding to a particular field number (e.g. KK 2005), please use the field number query service instead.

If you want to see which collector (e.g. Karel Knize) corresponds to a given acronym (e.g. KK), please use the field collector service instead.

If you want to search for plants found at a given locality (e.g. Sierra Medina), please use the field number locality query service instead.

If you already have the collector's name (e.g. Karel Kníže), and want to find the acronym(s) used by that collector (e.g. KK, KZ), please use the field collector's acronym query service instead.

This service currently includes details of at least some of the plants under the following acronyms:

Note that lists for some collectors are highly incomplete.

Note that sometimes more than one plant will be returned with the same field number – this may be because some collectors have used numbers to refer to localities rather than particular specimens collected at that locality.

In some cases, there may be more than one acronym corresponding to the same set of numbers. For example R and WR are used for Rausch's numbers, L and LAU for Lau's numbers, and so on. In such cases, all possibilities will be returned.
